Beth and Peter’s Story

Beth’s Challenge
Beth wanted advice on ethical investing. Her problem was that some of her super was with an SMSF that didn’t hold ethical investments. She was also really concerned about her apartment’s body corporate management, and it was taking up a lot of her time and energy to sort things out.
Peter’s Challenge
Peter lives with Beth and has money in an industry fund. He was appalled by the fund’s non-ethical holdings.
The Outcome
We worked with Beth and Peter to understand their lifestyle needs and how aligning their funds with deeply held conservation and ethical values was a critical issue. We investigated and were able to recommend ethical alternatives to their existing super holdings, which would also be positioned to grow their savings and support future lifestyle needs. They now have lower ongoing costs and taxes and are invested in sustainable super funds.

We helped Peter to plan for his retirement in terms of income and benefits (although he says he never wants to stop working!).
They are now planning on a new home once the sale of the existing apartment is complete.
